  • What are the different statuses on the posters, and what do each of them mean? The different statuses on the poster are Open, Acknowledged, and closed. What each of them mean are if they’re listen down on open are in fact that the person in charge of this opened it but never took action. The acknowledged section are the ones that we’re taken more attention to while the closed ones where already opened, acknowledged, and done.
  • Describe what you did (or what you were supposed to do) to find out if the issue you submitted to SeeClickFix was fixed.

What I was supposed to do to find out if the issue I submitted to SeeClickFix Was fixed was check on the website and see if it was opened acknowledged or closed.

  • What changes do you notice from the April 13th posters to the April 27th posters?

What I noticed was that The opened notes went completely down while the acknowledged ones increased the most.

Do you think there are any types of issues SeeClickFix is better at getting fixed than others?  Why do you think that?

I don’t really know honestly, What  do think is that they should take notice of every situation given to them. It’s not always easy that I know but i’m sure they don’t give enough hard work to do.

  • If an issue someone reported did not get fixed, what is something they might try next?

An issue someone reported that didn’t get fixed like a dumped trash what they might try to do is well report it again or call the city or wherever is  responsible to keep the streets clean. Or if it’s not so big they can somewhat do it themselves if it bothers them that much or if they care a lot about the community.

  • Do you think people who report issues to SeeClickFix are able to gain agency?  Explain your answer.

I think they’re not really able to gain agency yes it’ll benefit people by having a clean environment and all but to have complete to say agency I don’t think so.

Assignment #5

Identity is the qualities of a person that describes who they are. Dominant Narrative is when someone of bigger privileges takes advantages of someone of a smaller privilege. A counter narrative is when someone who doesn’t have much of a privilege tells their side of the story. I think it is important to tell a counter narrative about a dominant narrative about what people say about my identity because they’ll know what is truly happening within myself and my life instead of someone else’s opinion.

To begin with a dominant narrative is when someone with bigger power says something of someone with less privilege and people believe off of that, What this has to do with my personality is when people stereotype what I dress like,Eat,and look like. For example people assume that most latinos ( or as people call them ” mexicans ” when not all latinos are mexican ) are always eating hardshell tacos and burritos when We eat way more different food and dishes every single day. This picture I used was a dish of chile rellenos, This dish is one of the many others that latinos make that shows we not only eat tacos every single day. Another Example is that most latinos dress in panchos, big hats, and all have mustaches. Or that most are cholos wearing flannels, White t’s, dickies, and cortez s.

To continue with the definition of a counter narrative is a self told story or perspective of people who are considered insignificant. What this has to do with me personally is when I try to explain to people that anyone of a mexican culture family doesn’t always wear or eat stereotypical food on a daily. I’ve picked up a picture of college students all in a group taking a picture, Not wearing sombreros not eating tacos or wearing ponchos. This shows a counter narrative of my identity because these students are showing the world that we are “normal” people who have ” normal ” lives like everyone else. Another one of the pictures I used as a counter narrative was the dish of chile rellenos because It shows how we don’t just eat one or two foods that people consider ” mexican “. This picture is a counter narrative because It proves to people that there’s more than just two foods that we eat and how they look so ignorant being stereotypical.

Last but not least an identity are the qualities that make up who a person is, What Identity has to do with me is that it makes me who I am truly. My knowledge and books are a really big part of my identity which is why I used a picture of stacked books. This is an example of my identity because I read a lot and that’s how I get all of my information and within this I become who I truly am. All of these pictures are a huge part of my identity because they show people what I deal with more than usually to become who I am. These pictures show the oppression, stereotypes, and racism I have to fight against when I come across it. They all make me a bit more stronger as a person.
